Phoenix surgicalPhoenix Surgical hosted a groundbreaking cadaver lab course for experienced orthopedic surgeons at Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University in Bangkok. Utilizing Rods&Cones, the event marked a significant advancement in medical training, providing 38 local surgeons with enhanced visibility and recording capabilities during a MIS Foot Corrective Surgery. This initiative not only improved the learning experience but also introduced cost-effective and efficient technology solutions to traditional surgical training methods.

Challenge

The primary challenge was to enhance the visibility of the surgical procedures for all participants in the crowded cadaver lab environment. Traditionally, surgeons would crowd around the operating table to observe the lead surgeon’s techniques, limiting visibility and learning opportunities. Additionally, Phoenix Surgical faced high costs and logistical challenges associated with hiring a professional TV crew to record the training, which often obstructed views and did not allow live viewing on multiple screens

Solution

Phoenix-ORRods&Cones technology was implemented to address these challenges by providing a multi-angle, high definition live stream of the surgery displayed on five large screens throughout the lab. This setup enabled every surgeon to have a clear view of the procedures without the need to crowd around the table. Rods&Cones also facilitated the recording of the entire session, eliminating the need for an external TV crew and their cumbersome equipment.
